Few weeks after it was debuted at the MWC in Barcelona, Gionee has now launched what it calls “the world slimmest” smartphone
China based Gionee has launched its latest variant of Elife series S in India. The company says their new baby is the “world’s slimmest smartphone”.
Gionee was established in 2002 but only became radical in recent years with its research and production of smartphones running on Android Operating System. Earlier, we reported Huawei Ascend P6 as the world’s slimmest smartphone, Gionee seem to have broken that record with its beautifully crafted Elife S5.5 smartphone which is also slimmer than the previous record holder Vivo X3 at 5.75mm.
Gionee first debuted the Elife S5.5 at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona and went on sale through-out China on the 18th of March. The phone has been launched into the India market today, the 31st day of March 2014 and would be commercially available on April 2nd. Other emerging markets, including Nigeria are expected to follow simultaneous launch next month.
The world’s slimmest phone by Gionee is priced at Rs. 22,999 in India and will cost around $370 in emerging markets.
