Pokemon Go, a mobile game that encourages players to go outside and wander around catching and collecting virtual monsters has been banned in one of Japan’s oldest, sacred and important Shinto shrines.
There are places where technology is limited and one of such places is a sacred place like the religious places of worship, it is not only inappropriate but undermines their values and beliefs. A shrine is a place where there is sober reflection, peace and tranquillity and not a place where you go catch some Pokemon.
On the Japanese religions shrine official website, they have posted the new directive that enforces Pokemon GO ban inside its shrine and in its surrounding.
Common sense should make some people know that there is time for everything, imagine catching some Pokemon inside the church, right there on the alter. Needless to say Pokemon has already caused some form of accident? Looks like a smart decision.
