The hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5 will hit store-shelves in April and may have some cool features like an eye scanner
South Korea tech giant Samsung is reportedly working with a iris-scanning security technology which could see an eye scanner being a feature of the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5.
In an interview with Bloomberg at the CES 2104 which was held in Las Vagas, Samsung’s executive vice president for mobile Lee Young Hee said “Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology,” but declined comments on whether or not, the eye scanner would be available for the Samsung Galaxy S5 at launch.
The decision for Samsung to include an eye scanner for security purpose is a direct reply to Apple’s latest finger-print security feature on the iPhone 5S.
The most outstanding bit of information revealed by Mr. Lee is that the Samsung Galaxy S5 won’t be like the Samsung S4 which is pretty much like its predecessor; the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature an entirely new design, new display and will feel much different on your palm than the other range of smartphones in the Galaxy S series.
Lee concluded by saying that the Galaxy S5 would be launched alongside a new smartwatch – Galaxy Gear which would be less bulky than the original but will be more powerful with alot of functionality.
In July of 2013, there was a prediction of Samsung Galaxy S5 release date on this blog and that prediction has now proved to be accurate. In April of 2014, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 would be available on store-shelves.
