Yahoo has started pushing for users of other browsers to “Upgrade to the new Firefox.” This development comes after Mozilla agreed to dump Google search and adopt Yahoo as it’s default search engine.
If you are visiting any Yahoo property from Opera, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Yandex browser, you should clearly see a prompt at the top-right corner of your browser window asking you upgrade.
The move by Yahoo will let as many people upgrade to the new Firefox, which is neatly designed with Yahoo’s search. It’s looks so much like Googe search that you wouldn’t notice at first.

Yahoo search is powered by Microsoft Bing. However, there were speculations that Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer attempted to break the merger it had with Microsoft. It appears the complications in the deal forced her to back-down.
Yahoo and Microsoft had earlier combined muscles to take down Google search with the Bing. The attempt ended up being one of those embarrassing moments.
