I just want to jump into the power aspect of this phone, but we have to take things slowly. Tecno L9 Plus is way bigger and better than its predecessor, catering for a specific audience who will love everything it has to offer.
Judging from data available in public domain, users want more from their battery, they want bigger battery capacity phones as well as the ability to quickly charge them as the need arises, most of these users also want a larger display which happens to be hot point of the Tecno L9 Plus.
This is like a Santa Clause fulfilling your wish, for guys who had a fantastic childhood, you can quickly relate with I am talking about here.
In the days before now, everything you needed to do as a kid was hang your sockings on the wall, Santa Clause comes while you are sleep ing, and most times, you awake and find your wish in a gift pack.
How awesome! That’s what Tecno has done with the L9 Plus, they have considered the suggestions of their fans and have come up with the most robust phone yet, in the L-Series. Tecno L9 Plus is big and brave; it shows the quality of work done before being released.
It is impressive to see how far Tecno has gone to make the L9 Plus big and attractive, and while it is difficult to operate the phone with one hand, it is designed in such a way that you are not conscious that you are holding a big 6-inch device.
The carefully crafted design language of the L9 Plus made that possible. The L9 Plus comes with a Full HD display and minimalistic bezels. The soft keys are outside the display giving you more room for apps to take over the entire screen. Just on top of the screen, you will find a Gorilla Glass, which will give you an extra level of protection for your screen.
Design and Specifications
I still remember when we kept wondering when Tecno will have a fingerprint reader, we wonder no longer because all their recent phones are equipped with one. The next feature we are curious to see when it happens is IP68 water and dust resistance capabilities.
While we dream on, the Tecno L9 Plus is equipped to meet the demands of power users in today’s market. But before we delve into the specs, let us find out how Tecno designed the L9 Plus.
When you handle the phone for the first time, you instantly feel a smartphone that has a premium build; aluminum metal body, volume rocker, SD tray, dual SIM tray, speaker grills, miroUSB port and headphone jacket are nicely placed in areas when it most comfortable to use.
There are three colours to choose from which are Black, Gold and Grey. But here is the deal, no matter what colour you choose, the specs are going to take your excitement to the next level.
Here is what you get inside the L9 Plus; 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP primary camera, 5MP selfie camera, Fingerprint reader and 5000mAh battery paired with fast charging technology.
Hold on! You want every detail about the phone? Read our Tecno L9 Plus specifications and features page, you won’t miss a single thing.
Let’s move on!
The camera on the L9 Plus will give you good quality photos; you won’t need any manual settings to get started. Tecno’s predefined camera settings are enough to test your photographic talents.
Here are some shots from the phablet, they are non-edited, only resized.
Software And Battery
The brave hearts and wise heads at Tecno’s research and development center have been able to tweak the Android 7.0 Nougat to fit into its proprietary HiOS. There are no cumbersome settings; everything is tailored with the average Nigerian user in mind. Luckily, everything seems to be working perfectly so far.
There are tons of preloaded apps inside the L9 Plus, and the phone is fully customizable. You can change the theme, fonts and perform other kind of tasks which would have taken a longer process and brought frustration if the HiOS wasn’t there.
With a 6-inch display, one could be scared about the battery performance of the phone. But at 5000mAh and rapid charge technology, that makes the device an all-round-performer. Battery is better managed on the Tecno L9 Plus, thanks to the company’s power management tool that gives you an edge over how your phone is operated.
I can’t really argue with Tecno’s strategy with the L-series and this means that the company is going to be consistent with their recent business model that has worked flawlessly.
The L9 Plus has come a long way, and it’s making a whole lot of sense for all of us at the test lab. We have been pushing the phone and battery consumption is very minimal. You can use the phone for three days on a single charge cycle.
The only drawback is that there is no 4G LTE on the phone, if you don’t care about that network option and love the display big, then the L9 Plus has to be your phone.
What more can I say? Handsome design, thoughtful hardware and software decisions. You have one of the leading Android phones of 2017 when it comes to battery power. At this point, I feel comfortable telling you that I can recommend this phone for you.
